Use Tusk from Claude or ChatGPT.
Connect your Tusk studio to an AI assistant and manage your clients’ sites from a chat: change a page’s text, publish it, connect a new site, invite the client. The assistant can only reach the sites and do the things you approve, and you can disconnect it at any time.
Claude
- In Claude, open Customize > Connectors and add Tusk CMS from the directory. Or choose Add custom connector and paste
https://tuskcms.com/mcp. - Claude opens Tusk in your browser. Sign in with your developer account.
- Pick the sites and the actions Claude may use, and press Approve & connect.
- In a chat, turn Tusk on from the + menu under Connectors and ask away.
ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, find Tusk CMS in the apps directory and connect it. (To test a server before it is listed, turn on developer mode under Settings > Security and login, then add
https://tuskcms.com/mcp.) - Sign in to Tusk in the window that opens, pick the sites and actions, and approve.
- Mention Tusk in a chat, or pick it from the tools menu.
Claude Code and other coding tools
For wiring a site’s build from your repo, use the plugin or the local server. They add the tools that write the build token into your .env without it ever entering the chat.
/plugin marketplace add emiledelarey/tusk-claude-plugin
/plugin install tusk@tuskcmsOr add the server to any MCP client (Cursor, Codex, Windsurf) and pair the machine once with npx @tuskcms/mcp login:
{ "mcpServers": { "tusk": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "@tuskcms/mcp"] } } }A client that supports remote servers with OAuth can use https://tuskcms.com/mcp directly instead. See Connecting a site for the full walk-through.
Things to ask
- “Change the headline on the Suntex home page to "Blinds made for Queensland light" and publish it.”
- “Which of my sites have unpublished changes?”
- “Fix the typo in the opening hours on the Mind The Gap contact page, then show me the change before publishing.”
- “Scan https://example.com and https://example.com/about for editable content and tell me what my client will be able to change.”
What it can do
whoami, list_sites— Which studio you are connected as, and your sites.get_site, get_page— A site’s pages, its editable fields and their current text.update_text— Change the words in one field. Saved as a draft; the live site does not change.publish, deploy_status— Put drafts live (your host rebuilds) and check when the new version is live.create_site, scan_site, save_fields, get_schema— Add a site you built, find its editable content, and curate which parts the client may edit.get_connect_guide, get_instruction, get_setup, set_deploy— How to wire the site’s build to Tusk, the setup checklist, and the deploy hook.invite_client— Email your client their login for one site.
Photos, files and lists are edited in the Tusk editor. Text changes are drafts until something publishes them, and your assistant asks you before it publishes or invites anyone.
What you approve, and what it can never do
- Sites. One site, or every site in your studio.
- Actions. Reading is always on. You tick the rest: change words (as drafts), publish, scan pages, change which parts are editable, add sites and set how they go live, invite a client.
- Never. It cannot see your password, create or revoke Tusk access tokens, change billing, your plan or account settings, close the studio, or touch your code or hosting. Tusk never hosts your website.
- How long. Access renews hourly while you use it and ends after 30 days unused. Disconnect it any time in your dashboard under Studio settings > Connected tools & devices; you get an email whenever a new connection is approved.
What Tusk receives and keeps is set out in the privacy policy. Tusk receives only the assistant’s requests, never your conversations.
If something goes wrong
- “Access has expired or was revoked” — reconnect Tusk in the assistant’s connector settings. Your website is unaffected.
- “Not allowed to publish” (or another action) — that action was not ticked when you approved. Disconnect and connect again with it ticked.
- “Developer accounts only” — client logins edit in the Tusk editor; connecting an assistant is for the developer who manages the sites.
- A publish that never shows — ask for the deploy status, or open the site in your dashboard; the “Is it live?” card says what the host reported.
Anything else: Support.
